The purpose of this seminar was to provide guidelines for the examination of the impact of trade reforms on poverty and welfare. The presentation explored a) the various channels through which trade reforms affect poverty, b) the methods available to assess the sign and strength of the trade-poverty links, c) the policymaking process in trade by surveying the ways institutions, stakeholders, and other factors shape final policy outcomes.
