Rwanda public expenditure targets analysis
In Rwanda, the government carried out a broad PSIA of the expenditure scenarios presented in the PRSP. Household survey data was econometrically modeled against different expenditure scenarios to assess their impact on poverty reduction. The macroeconomic impact of the expenditures in relation to macroeconomic stability and debt sustainability was examined in parallel. This PSIA was supported by the UK’s Department for International Development (DfID).
Another PSIA examining the poverty and social impacts of the reform of Rwanda’s tea sector is also underway, information on which will be posted on this site toward the end of 2003.
