The PSIA Approach

The User's Guide to Poverty and Social Impact Analysis developed by the World Bank outlines an approach for PSIA.

The User's Guide begins with an Introduction, which is available in different languages to the right.

Then it presents the conceptual framework for PSIA. Next it describes ten key elements of poverty and social impact analysis. It then proceeds to review some of the challenges that arise when analyzing the poverty and social impacts of policy reforms and proposes operational principles to address them. The User’s Guide concludes by proposing a matrix that can be used to organize and summarize the analysis.

For information on each of these parts of the approach, click the relevant link on the left navigation bar.
