Enabling Environment for Civic Engagement
Advisory Board Meeting - June 7th and June 8th 2004
The Enabling Environment for Civic Engagement program is an initiative of the World Bank’s Participation and Civic Engagement (PCE) Group, anchored in the Social Development Department (SDV). The program aims to promote favorable conditions for civil society to contribute to social and economic development and poverty reduction, through multi-stakeholder, participatory analytical tool - the ARVIN framework. ARVIN is acronym for Association, Resources, Voice, Information, and Negotiation, which are key enabling elements of civic engagement that are at the center of the assessment methodology.
