Africa

Poverty has remained stubbornly high in Africa for decades. Top-down plans and donor-driven investment programs have been less than successful. We need not just a new approach but a new vision: a vision of prosperity through the empowerment of local communities. The new vision for community driven development in the Africa Region seeks to put local governments and communities in the driver's seat, and give them a new set of powers, rights and obligations.
